A Short Intermission
In memory of Fall Beauty which passes quietly and quickly in an ice covered fog.
“Homestead” Series by Kate Cassidy - Artist
I am having some surgery this week and am supposed to take several weeks off. I will be back as soon as I can sit behind my keyboard and hopefully share some positive insights with you from what I know and hope to know enough to share.
The above is a group painting I was commissioned to create for a friend’s living room. Just to remind you how beautiful fall can be for the short time it takes with us in all its glory.

Thank you, Jim. I painted these trees from pictures I took in Colorado near Black Canyon of the Gunnison in the mountains. It was quite a task as the woman who asked me to do the commission had purchased the small picture first that was in a show. It was originally just a 5"x7" painting. She wanted me to think of a theme and go with that for her living room. So I painted the wagon that was broken down on a trail in the mountains, and the trees that surrounded the homestead in the mountains nearby, where the wagon was broken down...and the people in the cabin, may, or may not, have lived in that cabin. I always love painting trees as they are close to my heart.
Beautiful! The color combinations remind me of home in Cincinnati during the fall.
