But so many ways to make a difference. It can be exhausting, physically and emotionally, to be there for everyone. I had a colleague who spoke to 5 roles we can play reasonably well. More and you are sure to fail. Husband/wife, father/mother, son/daughter, sibling, friend, employee, citizen, etc. My dad passed recently. That role is fading with just a few responsibilities left.
My dad said that truly he felt aging to 92 wasn't bad. He got to see great grandchildren. Weddings births. The hardest thing of all was losing friends
My grandmother said the same thing about losing her friends.
